What is RM Bereavement policy

Is there anywhere I can view or download Royal Mails bereavement policy?
My mother passed away yesterday morning after a long illness and I would like to confirm what special leave I am entitled to. I'm getting conflicting information off reps and manager. In my case am I entitled to 5 days plus 1 day to attend funeral or 3 days plus one day to attend funeral ?
I've been looking online for some kind of confirmation but getting nowhere.

BEREAVEMENT



If arranging a funeral up to one week with pay, which includes the bereavement, arranging the funeral and any other duties (This is for arranging funerals of next of kin or as an executor).
For the death of next of kin and blood relative, (spouse, civil partner, long standing unmarried relationship, child, parent, sibling) up to one week with pay (No additional week is allowed if the person is arranging the funeral).
For a more distant relative e.g. parent in law, grandparent, aunt, uncle- one day with pay.
Discretion for additional time off in exceptional circumstances where care of a dependant is involved, however where prolonged time off is required this might be without pay or from holiday entitlement.

thanks for the reply. I'll have to challenge my union rep and manager about the leave allocation, they're both adamant that it's 3 days plus one day for funeral in my circumstances..I'm curious to why this is so Does anybody know if the special leave allocation is outlined on Royal Mail or CWU website or in a booklet.

they get the six days off, it specifically states 1 week off in the special leave guidelines it is not broken down into days

Having recently been caught up in the confusion of "BEREAVEMENT LEAVE" on the sudden death of my father,i would like to offer my experience.On informing my Line Manager of my situation he immediately informed me that i was only entitled to 3 DAYS paid leave.As i work in the east of England and had to travel to Scotland to make the arrangements and attend the funeral that wasnt going to work for me.One call to Human Resources confirmed that : I WAS entitled to 1 weeks paid leave.The HR operator was surprised that my manager did not know this ! Infact she gave me the following code that a manager should be looking at on his PSP reference (This may help you) it is:8001 026 583.Further to this if you get your line manager to look at the Royal Mail/CWU agreement on page 4 of the "SPECIAL LEAVE GUIDE" under the BEREAVEMENT heading it clearly supports the 1 week leave policy for (spouse,child,parent etc).I hope this helps any colleagues who may be in the same situation in future.

When my dad died my familly live 200miles from where I work I was given about 10days off as it was not practical to come back for a couple of days in between funeral arrangements only time in my 20years I was given any special leave it was down to the manager at the time who was ok about it

I recently went through grievance and I/r with a member who lost his mum. we got 5 days paid inclusive of funeral.

much the same as my experience when my dad died i only lived 50 miles away ,, but they treated me decently that time
