Royal Mail currently provide long sleeved clothing, trousers and brimmed hats to protect you, staying covered seems effective for those living in equatorial regions too.

I don't think monkey Is saying that sunscreen doesn't work for her.
It is a current news story that using sunscreen isn't sufficient to protect you from certain skin cancers. Indeed using a high factor sunscreen can lull you into a false sense of security whereby you think it is OK to be in the sun for hours on end. Using a sunscreen is only one tool in the prevention of skin cancer and covering up and avoiding the sun are as important, if not more so.
