Is this really allowed to happen?

Just seem to be getting nowhere in my office so I thought I would try and get some things answered on here (fingers crossed).
First thing, I'm full time, but I work with a part time (25 hour man). I'm supposed to throw both our rounds off with leaflets and have them both bagged up with all redirections, tracked, specials kill offs done by the time he walks in.
Here's where the problems start, Most of the rounds in the office have 2 full times on them, one of them does ips while the other preps both rounds. I don't do ips, so starts off even, until the second man comes off the ips and joins the first!. Now we all for some reason in my office have diffrent start times, different finnish times and work different hours per day.
Now on Monday, I have to start work at 6:35 am (after most other delivery staff by about 5 minutes) I then have to bag both rounds up before they do, and get my rounds deliverd about 30 mins before them. In other words my hours for that day is only 7 hours, while they have 7h 30 mins to do less work. pretty mush the same on tue. Now come Wed, I'm working 8h 45 mins, WTF!. They are working 8h 20 mins a lot of them are . Now they are calling it longs and shorts, but there must be rules to these things?. I don't have enough time to comlpete the work on any given day and the manager has to help bag one of the rounds up or I will bring back work (do quite often still). He did once admit after checking on the computer that I weas 20 mins down on the time needed on Monday ( and probably Tue) but was unwilling to change my times as I quite often still have trouble completing on a Wed. Now correct me if I'm wrong but this seem to be forced flexing up on my part!.
Now I also have a really rough time with breaks, After being in work from 6:05 to 2:50pm on Wed I really need my dinner break by about 10, but my partner does not start work till around 9:30. He is not ready for a break untill around 1pm. And then he is only entilted to a 30 min break while I have 40mins. So the only way to do this is for me to watch him deliver parcels for the last 10 mins of my break.
We have also began to crash another duty, now given that we all work different hours on any given day, you would think this would reflect this. But I have to crash the same amount of work on a Monday and Tue as men working 7h 30 min that day while I'm working just 7h on paper.
I have put in 2 grievances, the first one was discussed, but not much done about it in the end, the second seems to have been ignored. My rep just comes out with excuses, and I sent a txt to another union man and got no answer. There is a lot more to this and I will answer any questions you have.

in the same boat as you mate, but what i do is go and have my break let him load van, take out sds, then shove in the overtime, if they want no overtime they will have to get him in earlyer, i've been doing this for three months.

I have been doing this for almost a year, I did look at haveing my break before I went out, but then that leaves him with a 30 min break and me with none. or I have 10 min break and that leaves us with equal amounts. but I can't really do much in 10 mins except eat my meal as fast as I can, then watch hime eat his lunch later on.

As for doing the overtime, I don't really want to work longer than 8h 45 min on a Wed. I just want to know if this is allowed to happen, seems to me I have no rights.
Everyone else is having a meal relief in the canteen before they go out, I have it sat soaking wet late in a van.
I work 1h 45 mins longer on a wed than a tue!

I would find out who your rep reports to and contact them, have had to do that myself as rep is a rural and looks after them, also will nobody help you prep? im lucky sometimes one of the other posties, not rurals, comes and gives me a hand to bundle up.Im in the process of geting partners times changed at least 3 days a week. Hope you manage to get this sorted.I know how much pressure this puts on you.

I did find out who my rep reports to, I sent him a txt asking him for his email address, I got no answer back.
Thought I would try this forum, as I'm getting no help in my office. I'm just going to leave my round first chance I get and go onto a different one. Let some one else have the hassle of this one.

Best to take your break after loop 3, or whatever half way round on your duty is. We have the same crazy times at Barnsley, but people seem to have adapted. If you can't get it ready before he gets in, without killing yourself with stress, then you figure out how much you leave in. The screws will take note of this, and start to do something about it. You just have to stand tough.
