Accident deemed as my fault
Jarred my knee whilst out on delivery, reported it on my return, forms filled in etc and I had to take some time off due to it. Came back and I've been deemed blameworthy for accident as i could have gone a different way to delivery point and put on a prompt 1. Rep argued the case for me but manager still went through hr and deemed me at fault. What steps should be took by manager to be able to come to this conclusion? Think a WCM peep went out to investigate accident.

hard to know without specifics.
If hes saying you should have used an alternate route, then he`d have to demonstrate that the route you took was clearly and obviously a health and safety risk.

had same problem, fell down stairs, dom was determand that i was to blame,told him it was new cat trainers at fault, did not believe me, lo and behold cat trainers taking of uniforms, nothing said .

gives dom an easy out if they were as he can say "stairs are fine, the cat trainers are "RM approved" so any fall is obviously the postmans fault."
This is what this whole H&S movement is about, covering their own arse and putting blame onto the individual.

If you feel that the Manager's accident investigation has not been done to your satisfaction then ask your Safety Rep to go out and investigate the accident; (Your Manager cannot stop them from doing so).
When out on duty you made a dynamic risk assessment, it is unlikely that the exact same conditions existed for the investigators to make a judgement on whether or not yours was correct at that time. I cannot understand how the investigation could have taken place properly unless you were in attendance for the site visit and could show and explain what you did, how and why!
That said, even if you were deemed to have been the primary root cause of the accident, the resulting action will be that you should receive some training. Most likely you will be asked to watch and complete the Delivering Safely presentation.
