new supposed to be protections

i just wonder why given the new i/r procedures and the supposed new rules that the royal mail management can dictate and twist the rules to there benefit it just seems we are being sold down the river but then i think of what david cameron said we are all in this together and you know when he said it we are definatley not its a shame really as a union rep who as you know tries to get things done its like half want to and half dont an example which you will no doubt see happening up and down the country is overtime going out with the single round deliverys and with some shared rounds and they still finish within there hours dont take break come in early blah blah they then blame the union for absortion flexing etc well the union will just die in the long run you ask for help they give it you still run as fast as you can to finish before your time whats the point all you do is make it harder for your comrades in your unit lets have some proper support for this union if you want it to survive and before you end up on the dole and believe me it will happen even if you think your senior to some if the people who are under pressure because of your selfishness decide to pull out and not contribute any more the union will just become weaker with no bargaining powers that is happening slowly in our unit two pulled out this week and the feeling is that before the end of june ten more will follow if this happens up and down the uk were in trouble so think of others while we still have our jobs lets have some feedback on the discontent in other offices due to the selfish few

We had our revision go through earlier this year and it has been a cock up as usual. We still have people coming in early just so they can get out early, then run around and don't take there breaks. Of course it makes the ones who do it by the letter look bad. My delivery takes anything up to 5 hours with my break and sometimes longer. The thing is most of these people are union members themselves and are just ignoring the consequences. If they finish too early regularly the powers that be are just going to look at things again and think " we don't need this many staff as we can just make the duties longer again and lose more hours".
Wake up and smell the coffee. It's better to finish on time by doing the job as designed otherwise we are all going to be buggered in the end. Don't forget this is now a profit driven company and at some time the government will sell off the rest of the state owned shares then we'll be in real trouble. I'll get off my soap box now and catch my breath.
