MEAL RELIEF TIMES -ADVICE NEEDED

We are now starting at 6:15 in our office with a combination of ips and preping till 8:20 when we are supposed to have a 20 min meal relief.The other 20 minutes is at the very end of the duty time.I asked my DUM if I could have my FULL allowance of 40 minutes in one go before I went out on my delivery,he replied that I was'nt allowed to.
Now I've heard differing reports on this wether he's allowed to stop me so I thought I'd ask on here.I need to know OFFICIALLY as I don't want to drop myself in it.

Sadly theres only me and me and another guy out of 200 postman at our office taking the 20 min before we go out :sad:

in our office we work the same hours as you but HAVE to take our full meal relief before we go out

In our D.O we have always taken 40mins before we hit the streets, and nothing has changed.

:cfo :lfo They changed it in Longton DO to 25 mins before you go out and 15 when you come back. DOM says it's necessary to facilitate an early finish Saturday. However the new 318s times show we now do 1 and 3/4 hr ISP instead of the 1 and 1/2 we did before. Methinks there is an ulterior motive here and they are sneaking it in through the back door!!!!!!!!!!!!!!-----------KAWAK :hmmmm :hmmmm :hmmmm :evil/mad :evil/mad

The agreement on Single daily delivery/Meal Relief

Below is copy from SDD agreement, this remains in force.
Health and safety issue also



e) Saturday attendances will be significantly shorter than weekday attendances. To assist this Mailsort 3 need not be scheduled for delivery and missort runs should be rescheduled to enable an earlier start on town residential delivery routes.

f) Providing meal break/working time regulation rules are observed, employees will have the flexibility to plan the timing and location of their meal breaks. This flexibility also extends to the ability to have a refreshment break prior going out on delivery as long as it does not compromise the office workplan. Where deliveries are completed within the agreed office workplan then employees will be allowed to pouch off without returning to the office.

we have been told taht we must take our full meal relief 40 before we hit the streets even sat :mad they also said that the single delivery no longer counts as this is the new plans what they mean is exc action once again :mad
