keeping letters dry in the rain (newbie)

Hi Guys,

I am looking for any tips or tricks to keep letters dry in the rain.

Anytime it rains here mine always get soaked despite my best efforts.

This must be annoying for those receiving the letters but also make posting them through the letter boxes so much harder.

Any advice appreciated :)

Look for an flat (a4 size or bigger) in the last part of your delivery, that is encased ina plastic/waterproof wrapper - mark the letters so you don't forget it - and use it as a shield on all your bundles till you get to that address.

Also keep something plastic wrapped at the back of the bundle or you'll find that when holding it against your arm it will stop the mail from rubbing against your arm and disintegrating when if it gets wet.

Tie up in smaller bundles when it's wet so you have less mail exposed to the direct rain.

I use a old A4 laminated dog warning card at the back of the bundle

also if you wear one of those coat, just roll up the sleeve holding the post so you arm doesn't have wet clothing in between.

Your job is too deliver it correctly if the item is not waterproof it is of no consequence of your part in delivery.

LOL I have honestly never cared about mail getting wet, can't be helped, just carry on as usual. Never had a complaint.

Exactly if there's no official provision to keep the mail dry, hell the bags themselves aren't even waterproof, they can't expect us to work miracles in torrential rain.
