there is something in the mirror about a paydeal that both sides are happy with but nothing else so once again it will be a "wait and see scenario"

I think its the infamous spanish practices or flexibility that seems to be the main issue now! all those mornings spent on street corners swiggin Sangria and eating paella will have to cease.

iv seen what i was told is the new deal, its something like 6.9% over two years ,£147 lump sum instead of backpay,
£400 lump sum if your office agrees to flexibility, pension reform etc

didnt get to see the rest, i dont think its great :d'oh!

The new proposed deal is this: i know this because i asked RM operations exactly what was being tabled:

5.4% on basic pay from October 2007 taking full time national basic pay from £324.92 per week to £342.46.
1.5% on basic pay in April 2008 (on condition agreement on pension reform, change and flexibility is reached)
Which means 347.60 basic

So 6,9% over two years.

If all agreed, a lump sum of £175 in October sometime. Plus the usual productivity scheme, Colleague shares etc. - which amount to pennies on the grand scale of things.

So still a pay cut then considering D2D alone plus all the other strings and pension robbery. NO thanks.

Wot no backdating?

Post by mailjock »

And what about April to October - no backdating?

Also does that mean that the annual wage negotiation date changes from April to October which would actually make it a 30 month deal.

These people are so slippery that everyhting has got to be looked at 100 times.

Our union rep, told us today the d2ds were not part of the new pay deal. However the majority of our office still think the pension scam, plus flexibility are issues that need sorting.

If the union send us back after agreeing to that then i want a refund from them for the days i went on strike...that offer is bollocks and we all know it.

So after 6 months of talks and four months of on and off strikes this is the best RM can offer :lfo and :cfo .In my office the two 48hr strikes have done wonders.Everyone back later taking breaks and still a huge amount of mail left in the office.
