Summer lapsing for CWU or just blue shirts

At Chelmsford mail centre our hours are getting cut back. Overtime being lost, but our CWU reps still get 30hrs docket each week, Night Shift Money ... reps still getting Driving Money and TPM payments in various forms being paid....... no loss of earnings for them. Sure when I see 6 reps sitting down in the leather 3 piece suites and 40 inch plasma screens makes me feel some much better that I have lost nearly 10 to 15 hours overtime every week!! Wished I had a 4 day week and turn up when I like.... I blame the management for letting it happen. One rule for one and another for the reps !

Same here mate. Out of 69 deliveries , 7 laps next week plus no WDO ( working day off). No OT what so ever. Come on boys and girls ...go out do your job and if can't do it bring it back and let the managers do it ..and dump it on DOMS' table.

Don't get me wrong I don't like not having the overtime, what I cant stand is the double standards while the blue shirt suffers little or no impact on our reps earing capacity, they are no better than the managers...... Understand a manager will cut back but they don't cut back on the reps pay packet like ours !

Im not a union rep, but seeing the hard work and hours our rep puts in with out payment i dont begrudge the reps any perks of the job.

Rubbish, I've done the reps job, but you shouldn't be in it for the perks, it should be the same for all!

Whats rubbish, the fact that he works hard or the fact i dont begrudge him perks, you may have been a rep in a small office with nothing to do all day, but our rep not only looks after our office with 150 posties but he also looks after 3 of the smaller offices that are close to us. his phone is never off,we have often been out with him for a drink and his phone has rang and its been a postie with a problem in which he has had to go home to deal with it, so dont judge people untill you have heard the whole story.

Clearly a gap between reps in a Delivery office and a mail centre...... go to our mail centre and seen the shameful double standards............ I can only speak for Chelmsford were we have some really good reps but the main one is on an ego trip who has 30 hours docket, but we have to take cut backs. He has his puppies who run around without any backbone to stand up to him , and again I blame the countless MCM,s not doing anything....... just so wrong !

No 120 people in my office, no one forces you to do the job, no one should expect to be treated differently to anyone else

They can have perks but not monetary as such and no getting OT whilst denying others...

If a Rep has an easy duty, or is used as a spare or not, a Rep goes home early, gets time off for consultation and conferences then there is nothing wrong with but actually benefitting from the position as a Rep in some sort of nefarious way is not on.

The bloke that sights a Rep in a 150 posties office is over-egging things a bit. Surely, you will have more than one rep and why are people getting themselves in trouble so often?

No we have around 200 posties here in Huddersfield and we have no official IR Rep, although a few of us act as activists helping out where we can.

So the logic is that you get perks as a rep, interesting, that while reps get open docket at a mail centre the rest of the staff go without......... ok must become a rep to get docket then. Big difference between a delivery office and a mail centre but I thought a reps job was to apply fairness and look after the many not just the few....... Come to Chelmsford and see how it works here !
