Royal Mails procurement director has said the uniform contract is going out to tender and that a new uniform may be in the pipeline due to developments in new business streams !!??

Is this really needed ?

The contract has to go out to tender every so often. It may mean a change in supplier, it doesn't necessarily mean a change in uniform design although some people might welcome some changes.

We need shorts + trousers with zip pockets and we should be provided with suitable socks.

Something like a shirt pocket on the polo shirts would be ideal for keeping your pen in as well.

It's not even mist proof, and if you put it on over the fleece you sweat like something very sweaty indeed because remarkably the jacket was designed to let water in but not out again.

If you take the fleece off and just go with the cagoule you die of hypothermia within 5 minutes.
