What Do World Class Mail People Do?

Six months ago In our delivery office two young lads straight out of university entered our world.
Each day they sit behind laptop computers and drink lots of coffee.
They dont really communicate with the postie, if fact it seems as though they keep clear of us.
Once i spotted one of them, he was in the carpark, i saw him erect a sign and after he scurried away i read it. It said "Van cleaning area".

My question is who and what are these World Class Mail people?
What do they do?
How many of them are they around the UK?
How much do they earn?
Now im sure they are really very nice people but i for one have no idea of there purpose.

Most of our office feels the same about the 2 in our office. I'm not against them or anything, but I literally have no idea what they are doing.

WCM = Wasting Company Money. All WCM seems to do (at least in MCs) is make everything less efficient, with a lot more double handling

They now have a " Wall of Success".. I noticed it today. Lots of pretty post it notes stuck to it with messages written on, such as -" 1 reward point for ideas"..
Completely bonkers.
Now on the funny side, if you have a sense of humor its quite amusing. But from an intellectual, financial side of things its very alarming!
Lets see what they achieve in another 6 months.

Ours continually stuck bumf up on the wall re: health & safety.

The fact that 95% of the office still refuse to use the LWT's appears to have gone unnoticed.

In my former mc they seemed to be the favoured managers with nothing else to do and opgs who didn't want to do sorting - one guy told me he volunteered because they got 's**t loads of time off the floor'.
They seemed to produce childish drawings for their wall noticeboards which nobody looked at and cardboard cartoon cutouts for staircases to tell us to hold on to the handrails and not to run. I don't know how staff managed to walk up and down stairs for decades previously.
A complete waste of time and money.
