Cutting off problem

Hi. Im a fairly new postman

Today i told my stand in manager (normal manager off). That i was going to cut. I told him this just before leaving the office.

My partner i work with agreed to do any that was left when asked. However while we were out working, he said he wasnt going to do it. (there was 2 bags)
I tried to contact the manager but had no luck.
In the end my partner brought the mail back to the office.

Just wondering if i could get in trobule over this? Like i said i told the manager before we went out.

Our normal manager is back tommorow and he probably wont be too impressed seeing some mail in the office.

Your partner agreed to do it. You told the manager you couldn't/wouldn't.

If he told the manager he would do it,Then it is his problem,He has wilfully delayed.
As long as you told the manager you would not be going over you are covered.

Your fine as long as the part time manager remembers the conversation. I would say get in with your side first.

It's your partner's issue. Simples. They should've advised the DIM (having agreed to do it) that they had changed their mind. Without a very good reason, this would likely get them a conduct. I've cut-off before, been brought back and like you the partner had agreed with the lino/DIM to go back out and complete on o/t. They did so on every occasion and all was good.

If you tried to make contact but couldn't you'll be ok, if you've got call logs ten you can prove you made every effort to tell them and it's not your fault if they don't answer. In these asda I always send a text just to cover my butt.

anyway as soon as you knew you would have issues should have told dom. he could have made you take it due to this dom was being bit lenient
