As far as I know the CWU are not standing in the Euro elections. They do however, insist on spending my subs sending me propaganda letters basically saying DON'T VOTE UKIP - EUROPE IS WONDERFUL!

I received another today with more ideological crap and lies. Biggest trading partner - EUROPE! (It was anyway.)
Good for jobs the EU is. (WHAT THE SAME B*STARD EU THAT HAS FORCED US TO ALLOW UNFAIR COMPETITION FROM TNT!) Pull the other one.
The EU has been responsible for most of the outbreaks of imported disease that wiped our farms out. It has wiped our fishing industry out.
It has taken tens of billions in cash and handed it out to 'poor' countries. It has dramatically reduced food production so every household is spending more on it. And yes, it has allowed an immigration free-for-all which cuts labour costs and has changed the face of our nation for the worse.

And the worst thing - we were never asked about political union. Since the Common Market we have had no referendum, but have been railroaded into this crapola by slithering politicians on minority votes with vested interests of their sponsors at heart. Now the LiLaC consensus is having one fired up their ar$e by UKIP and others and are running scared.

So, having my union spending money trying to indoctrinate me into sticking to the old failed consensus politics and backing LieBore's point of view (despite the Millipede openly trying to disassociate LieBore from the Unions) is frankly ridiculous.

So, CWU stop sending me this contradictory, hypocritical and downright misleading BS and start doing what you are paid to do. I don't need to be told how to vote.

Kind of Ironic that we've been stuffing all these election pamphlets through peoples letterboxes....and now we get sent similar Bullshit by our own Union!

I agree I don't believe our Union should be spending our money to try and persuade us one way or another. I'm still waiting for the the "None of the Above" box to be included on the Ballot Paper, in which case we will be represented by A) The winner of Britain's Got Talent, B)The Winner of the European Song Contest or C) The one with the Biggest Tits!

In any of those situations we will probably still get as decent a representation as we could expect. Bearing in mind the usual bunch of Self-Serving, Lying, Deceitful, Money-Grabbing Bastards we usually end up with!

If you dont believe they should be doing it, simply opt out of the political levy and they wont be spending your money doing it then, effectively we have given them part of our subs(again the political levy) to spend on political campaigns, anyone who does not want that to happen can simply opt out of paying that part of their subs at anytime

It was never proven if it actually began here, but due to our large beef industry we suffered worst. The EU also encouraged much pointless cross-border trading which seldom had the standards we had, being the strictest on earth at one time.

Funnily enough (surprise surprise) I asked 6 months before joining the CWU about this as I was aware of it. I was told that the 'updated' opt-out application would be available, but strangely never got it....

2007 Foot and Mouth outbreak: The source was believed to be remains of legally imported infected lamb.
2001 ditto: it is likely that the infected meat had been illegally imported to the UK.

I'll try and get a plain-English link for you when time allows, as it was a while ago I read this. It referred to offal-based feeds that were forbidden (due to the link with BSE and scrapie) but were illegally used abroad and also here. I know they are banned EU-wide now.
