Delivery office resign.

Hi all,
I would be greatful for your views on this topic & any real help with this one...
Our office is going through its revisions which without a doubt will trigger an office resign very soon. Panick stations are setting in already with some people & it has been suggested today some of the seniors are trying to stop this resign from happening by persuadeing the manager that this would be a bad idea for the office & are obviously afraid they will lose their walks, which some have been on for years.
For me has a reserve for the last 6yrs & without many long weekends this is something I dread not happening. My seniority ranks me now so that I am guarenteed my own walk if this resign takes place.
Can the resign be stopped is that possible??? & what can I do if this happens.

A full resign will occur if there is a " major change" affecting 33 1/3 % of the total duties. Duties which are unaffected in the major change can remain with the job holder unless they volunteer to place their duty into the resign. The resign will also exclude duty holders who have held their duty for less than 12 months unless that duty has been subjected to major change.

it can be stopped if it is going to cost too much i.e. training. ours did. senior guys are still reserves new comers are walk holders.

however bad union support will cause this.

And of course it has to be agreed by the members, non members won't get a vote on whether a repick takes place or not. It isn't like the old days when everything went into the hat, if you are having a modernisation revision with P&L you should get a resign, but there are a shed load of exceptions theses days, ATOS, family friendly, indoor duties, specialist duties, duties basically unchanged - you will certainly find there are far fewer duties in the pot than there should be.

we didn't have a say/vote in our recent re-pick, our rep never said we could either, there were major changes to every duty and just told do pick one when your name came up, all agreed by manager & rep with no yea or nay from union members, a few with 10 years or more service got told the couldn't pick certain duties because the were FT and some PT with a few years less service (me included) leapfrogged them,
although it suited me this time, the system stinks that seniority can be twisted to suit their made up system.
