Absorbing & BNP over Election period.

Just wanting to know are there any offices absorbing through the Election period and we have been told it's a national agreement and we HAVE to deliver BNP material. Who the F**k are the union to make up our minds about these BNP leaflets?

Election material and absorption are two different things.

You don't HAVE to deliver BNP leaflets - that is why there is a conscience clause in the agreement.
They should listen sympathetically to your request not to do them.
And if they don't - then don't do any at all.

Do they have to be scared to refuse them, and here I thought the agreements had the level set at "belief of personal risk". Perhaps come the next election we should have ECGs on standby to check the level of fear , or perhaps a row of medals designating how hard a postie is. Also safety is not the only factor, moral issues are as well.

Further the agreement is not restricted to ANY single party - it applies to all. As I have said before if you have a moral objection to delivering the Green Parties leaflets you can refuse to do so, and although I wouldn't agree with your values, I would support your right to refuse.

I wasn't gesting it's just that I have never heard the term lapsing at my DO in the 4 months I've been there so what is it?

I dont mind co-lapsing etc but what I do mind is that the 6 managers are still sat on their a**ses for 4 hours while we have more and more to do each day

Has different names in different offices. Same principal, where you take a bit, or a row from another duty on light days. Nearly always a Monday or Tuesday. Do they not do this in your office?

Sharing, usually the delivery element of, one or more additional rounds between the employees in order that there is sufficient work to fill their duty times.

We do it every day and management call it duty fill , I call it compulsory overtime most days .

Was a bit on busy days and double that on easier ? days, NOW it's the double bit every day - certainly fills my day - TO OVERFLOWING!
