Last day at school

Tomorrow is my last shift at RM.

Out on my walk today my mind was wandering as to what I would like to do tomorrow.

Must say the DOM has been fine although pretty spineless, threatening us with this will happen or that will happen but nothing does. Must wear Hi Viz in the yard, threatening us with CC but nobody ever gets coded.
Mustn't start earlier than fifteen minutes before time, then within a week it's back to norm, people coming in an hour early. Must take 20 minute break after prepping, that might last two days!

So, I don't want to slash his tyres, just give him a chat on how to manage! :)

A bloke in the office who I would like to drop in it, as he is rock ape, seen more intelligence in a pork pie.

However, back to reality, I might leave a few gates open, I might sign for a couple of things if people aren't in.

Anybody got plans for their last day?

You have a go at others in your post for not doing the job properly and allowing the manager to clear the office then openly admit that you're a main offender. Why wait til your last day to do the job you're paid for. Now whoever follows you has to either cut off and face the consequences or cut the job up thus creating false savings

Remember an old colleague of mine who on his last day was given a thank you from our Dim in front of the staff, god rest him he has left this world now but he gave me one of the greatest memories of my life.
He said a few words of thanks to the boys and then got stuck into the Dim ,plus a few others who got the sharp end of his tongue, definitely didn't hold back ,the older Postie's like myself still talk about it to this day.

Marvelous sentiment indeed, as so often happens on here you are talking total tosh, absolute gonads, as you have no idea what happens in my office.

I would never try and tell you what to do or what you should have done, as I am not in your office.

Anyway, I have delivered my last bundle and I am a happy chappy.

A bit of both, might do some part time work.

There is a whole lot more wrong with the job than just starting early.

I take the view, regardless of how long or how difficult rounds are to complete in the duty time, many will start as early as they can, so they can finish as early as they can. Human nature.

I've not been here that long, about 18 months but I've seen the pressure increase and the moral drop. I sincerely feel for posties who have served many years, it must extremely difficult for them.

Changes need to be made. We have rural rounds that regularly finish an to an hour and half before time. The town rounds though, rarely finish on time. They just never, ever get tested though.

If somehow, the Union could get senior management to come out and see what life is like on the pavements then, maybe, just maybe things could change for the better.

It won't happen though, they would much rather live in the 70s and use Neanderthal management methods.

It will get better in a year or so.... Amazon and TNT gone .... some are going .. stamps mail has nose dive ....there will be hardly any mail for us to deliver ...and we got inflation busting pay ... so why worry ... rosy time is coming
