I delivered several today also, there does seem to be less of the bigger parcels from Amazon though.

while the customer service side of me has slowly been drained away , (delivery to a neighbour has never happened with me ) it didnt take any time away as i had yet to deliver to them so i thought i would be helpful but as i said i made certain that they knew it was a differant companies cock up , dont worry it wont happen again unless they remember me at christmas if the firms still here then !!

I wouldn't get involved tbh if the customer was out what do you do then with the package? Nosy neighbour might then report you if you put it back etc.

At most simply knock to tell them it's there.

so now that amazon are delivering their own parcels, how may have you spotted left (abandoned) , i have so far found one left outside an derelict house in full view of the street for a house 3 doors away, and one customer came out ranting at me as a parcel had been left outside her house 3 days previous which was for the same number in a differant road,
i realise that i shouldnt have done it but in both cases i sorted it out as it did not take me any extra time but pointed out to the customers that we did not have anything to do with amazon any more, one of them had already had a replacment from amazon so she was on a winner 2 for the price of one

I'll sometimes take out my marker pen and write, "Not Left by Royal Mail"! on any parcels I find left in a stupid place. You may say it's wasting time but it seems to stop the angry customers from phoning up the office and complaining, or catching me in the next street and gobbing off!

Strange how so many people seem unaware of the hundreds of Courier Vans that are driving up and down their street isn't it? They still think we're the only people that deliver all their mail!

How long the like of Fed Ex, UPS had been delivering parcels in UK. It make me wonder how much work have we lost in parcels business to fellow couriers. It is a shame there are massive drop of standard in last few years with the like of Yodel, Amazon Logistics, etc.
