Does anyone where I can get the information on delivering Election material and payment

I know non address is 7 days
Address is 3 days
Just been on Facebook CWU Page people on there have not got a clue and are getting shafted by there managers!

One thinks that you don't get paid extra for non address

Would like to post it on there for them.

Oh my god there's a rep on there saying he goes in early to throw them off and he can't see the problem in that

That's the agreement... you prep them in your own time as you are getting paid per item... the delivery aspect is immeasurable to a degree... you can't book OT against them but then again in all likelihood you will be visiting each delivery point over the three to seven days if you manage them properly...

Also if you do go over you can't claim docket if you decided to take them all in one day, but if you don't and traffic levels of other streams are making you go over YOU CAN CLAIM DOCKET.

4. There should be no extended delivery overtime for poll cards and election material candidate mail which are covered by unit payments.

It means you can't claim if the sole reason is poll cards or election material take you over, but if the other traffic streams cause you to go over - you can claim. As clarified by Dale Lang Head of Industrial Relations:

The unit payments mean we don’t pay overtime for the election material or poll cards but if the volume of ‘non-election material’ workload requires overtime then yes that should be paid in the normal way. The fact that we make election material unit payments on the day does not mean there can be no extended delivery overtime.

On your second point you’re right we do recognise there may be occasions where the volume of poll cards and other mail mean is it simply not possible to maintain the full product service specification. But we have to be careful about how we can say this in our communications. We ask people to do all they reasonably can and if having done so some poll cards fall back to the next delivery we would not withhold the unit payment. As you say we will be pragmatic where necessary. I sent the words in red below to our heads of IR in response to a request for clarity on what DOMs should do in the event that volume made it impossible to clear the poll cards on one day.



While we make every effort to meet these service standards there are occasions when volumes make this impossible and some fall into the next delivery. We do not intend to withhold unit payments in the event of this happening.

TBT - I hadn't seen the LTB you highlighted... I assume our local agreement encapsulates the body of it... as usual these things are open to differing interpretations... locally it's a given that you prep the election material in your own time while the LTB possibly suggests otherwise. Personally, if you've got 500 calls you are already getting £25 (5p a leaflet) for 30 minutes work which is not unreasonable... if you guys are getting 30 minutes to do said material on the business then it's happy days for you lot!

As regards the old D2D agreement once again we always prepped in our own time... not any-more of course... well, some of us anyway...

I now realise why I haven't seen it as it's not an LTB...
