Hey folks,

Yep, its Manpower hiring casuals for em, Im one of em!

So far Ive managed to not break picket lines, and never will do. I was lucky though, cos first day was Saturday and agency told me Im not allowed to cross the lines on my first day, so instead of 7am I just turned up at 12 when it finished. Im supposed to go break strike today too, but said I cant work today cos of family emergency...

f***ing hard though, Im desperate for the money, got rent to pay and 50 quid to last me two weeks.... Oh well.

Two of us went down to the picket line in Reading on Friday. Was good, they seem pretty determined, and said the strike was solid. We saw one lorry go in (agency driver), but it came out about 5 mins later so cant have been carrying much.

They also said the rolling strike idea is great (which I thought it wasnt?) cos it causes real bad backlogs?

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

Here's the draft of a leaflet our friends on libcom intend translate into Polish for use in a leaflet to be given to agency staff. It sounds like a good idea to me. Who have I got more in common with? Some working class lad from Wroclaw trying to earn a living, or a parasite from Rothsay who cocked up the F.A and who couldn't work in convulsions, but gets a million quid a year?

These changes don't just affect existing staff, they affect all future staff at Royal Mail and have a knock on effect in other sectors and employers as conditions are attacked across the board.

Got a new Polish recruit in our office and he's one of the most committed to the strike. Don't necessarilly slag off the Poles - most have a great attitude to strikes/picket lines etc.
