Well I finally got around to checking out this forum, although the lack of fooie on the box may have been a deciding factor. What a boring cup final.

My name, as you can probably see is John Nash, and I'm a postman in Enfield, Middlesex - just north of London. I'm also a CWU rep - Area Safety Rep, and anyone who has ever met me will recognise why I used my real name as my login, as I feel that we should all be brave enough to stand up and be counted when it counts.

I'm curious about the forum more than anything else, and I'm also pleased to note the banners above regarding protecting our jobs.

I'm also suspicious about who can read and influence discussion without any recourse or accountability , after all I could be talking to Alan Leighton disguised as a bona fide postal worker.

I used to be a member of our CWU discussion forum until it was closed, and I expect that's been covered here comprehensively already in past threads.

Anyway - that's enough for an introduction - Its not suppost to be a diatribe.

Any chance of a spell checker as I've got fat fingers.

Ive just joined in myself, and I know im gonna have some fun on here. & I hope you do too
I totally agree with the up front and be named approach, but as the site can be viewed
by anyone I can understand some individuals wanting to use their nick names.

Not every one of them that has been labotomised has lost the basic reading skilsl !!!!!!

To all of you out there that arent CWU reps did you note in Johns intro he holds
two positions!!!!! It is a fact that most of us CWU reps do.... so come on get active and
consider putting yerself forward.

1st of all welcome John and respect for using your real name.

I think a lot of it depends on the character of who joins,there is a lot of upset people on here as you can imagine and they are venting their frustration on the board.
Managers are getting caned no end,not because we're nasty people but because we're going through a lot of s**t,and we're being treated like 2nd class citizens.

One user on here has had his real name changed to a nickname for the reasons above,he's getting a lot of crap at his DO.
And in time honored fashion the managers if they work out who we all are will just victimise us at work.

Like you say when you get time have a read,but i'm guessing you know most of whats going on anyway.
Pick a post,pick a moan,pick a slag off here a slag off there and it could be any office mlo or where ever in the uk,
thats how bad it is.

Managers or 'screws' that they are affectionately know as ARE ON the site not sure if big Al is,he's too busy in Canada counting his lolly,but they are on here.
They seem a bit too scared to post,but they have every right to and will be treated the same as any user.
Abuse to ANY member is not on,regardless of who they are,everybody is entitled to post their opinion.

Anyway that's enough of me enjoy the site,our motto is say your good bits,say your bad but most of all say something,so get your arse out there
