Anybody know if any limits on how much you are expected to collect from a customer when out on collections is there a limit on number off bags you have to load thanks

Remember emptying a Rural Post Office just before Christmas. The guy said, "I've got 13 Specials for you"! "No problem I'll empty the box and then I'll be back". Turned out he had 13 SACKS of Specials!!
"I've only got a Vauxhall combo van, why didn't you phone the DO and I could have bought a Transit"? Turned out a local firm had a load of orders and wanted to make sure their customers got them for Christmas. Very commendable.

Point of the story....I only took his specials and left all the other mail...because that filled the van up. And that comes back to your point, you can only take as much mail as you can get in your vehicle!

I'm sure some smart ass is going to come out with some rule or regulation saying I should have done differently. However when it's 1800 and you're the guy on the ground (don't expect any kind of Manager to answer a phone at that time of day) then you have to make the decision.

Company I collect from requested 30 mech trays on Friday as they are putting out a bulk mail on Monday which I of course will have to collect. Asked boss if it could go as a special collection as it will impact on the rest of my collection times but was just told to "do your best".

Well spotted Norm Yeah that was left to take the mail from the remaining boxes. I'm sure the shite would have hit the fan if I'd not emptied the rest, (I was only about half way around) but unfortunately at the furthest point from the Office, so no chance of quickly popping back and dropping off some sacks.

Now I'm sure some other smart ass will tell me you're not meant to carry mail in the front (which I believe is true Norm...so there!)
