Re: is this true ?
He tells you lies.
I got a union rep to send me this bill. Read the bottom paragraph
Normal Bank Holiday arrangements will continue to apply. Employees who work a bank holiday will continue to get either overtime or a day in lieu. The number of hours worked on the Bank Holiday will be credited back into the annual leave quota* (as a bank holiday day off in lieu). The system automatically credits hours worked back to the employee when the correct bank holiday payment is selected. Arrangements for part timers will continue to be pro-rated to ensure everyone is treated fairly regardless of the days in the week they work.
*For clarity where an individual works 2 hours or more and they choose a day in lieu they will be credited with hour’s equivalent to their average attendance for that week.
Where an individual’s rest day coincides with a Bank Holiday they will have the option of being credited with a day in lieu equivalent to the hours they would normally work on that day or alternatively they can claim BH excess equivalent to the hours they would normally work on that day

Phone HR I heard they confirm it can be done. It's also in the previous 2 Christmas agreements.

Thankyou. In the Christmas agreements? I cannot recall ever reading it before. Has anyone had success in getting paid overtime instead of a day in lieu?coxie wrote:Phone HR I heard they confirm it can be done. It's also in the previous 2 Christmas agreements.

Re: is this true ?
I had success in the past when I printed off the agreement and offered to get an area rep in to discuss it.

Sorry but just because my dom says no, that doesn't mean it can't be done. He has said no to many of things in the past but has had to go back on it because he was wrong to do so.bringon4dayweeks wrote:if the dom says no thats it basically. That's why i just wanted to know for definite it i am right to insist, rather than just ask.

Re: is this true ?
This is from the Christmas arrangements too.
3.4 Rest days will apply in line with normal year round arrangements. Attendances may be varied by local agreement to take account of workload forecasts and service requirements. Where workload requires people can volunteer to work their normal rest day in return for a day in lieu or scheduled attendance
Where a rest day falls on a Bank Holiday (i.e. 25, 26 December or 1 January, plus 2 January in Scotland) and it is not operationally sensible to transfer the rest day to another day in the same week people will receive an additional day holiday (including those working ‘a week off in six’ or other variations on this theme) in the form of a day in lieu or alternatively the excess hours can be taken as normal overtime

Re: is this true ?
Ok, we've printed the agreement and shown the DOM.
She still says no,says she's phoned HR and we're not getting OT, just a lieu days allowed.
The Union Rep says there's nothing more we can do.
What's our next step please??
