Re: Stealing overtime..
There is no agreement on banking of hours, if your manager could not find you other work to do to complete your hours, then that is his problem, if he touches your overtime put in a grievance. The fact he has been inept enough to not find you other work should not impact on overtime you have already worked. Get him to show you the agreement that says he can do this.

If they start going down that road, then overtime will be a thing of the past as far as I am concerned....

Re: Stealing overtime..
So what happens to the people that didn't do any overtime? They get away without losing money. Unfair idea, the manager should give you enough work to fill your day.

Email him and tell him that if the overtime is not in this weeks pay, you will be filing a claim against him in the Small Claims Court. Don,t think you will have any problem.

If O/T was agreed then not a lot he can do. Legally DIM is on dodgy ground. ('Course different if is was his annual performance bonus though
.)

Deleted, again! I thought this forum was anonymous. The way I understood it was you get paid x amount to do x amount of OT. Some postmen are fast and some are slow. It might take one postman 2 hours to do half a walk and another only an hour. At the end of the day, you are being paid to do a job. Aslong as it is done correctly, whats the problem with doing it quicker?

If you feel that you are being treated un fairly or a Manager is not following a agreement your get you rep to write a letter of grievance outlining the issues.
This gives the manager time to reflect on the decision. If nothing changes you then follow the set IR frame work (which has just changed) in solving the matter through various stages..

It's theft, stealing, dishonest, wicksing, filching, larceny, robbery and fraudulent....just normal pastimes for a typical DOM.

Re: Stealing overtime..
Same thing happens in my office.
we are told that if ur early 1 day and late another it balances out throughout the week
They say u've gotta work ur 39 hours a week...even if it means moving 1-2 hours from 1 day to another...
Also if it gets brought up more than once management just say its part of a local agreement in the office O_o;;

If there is a "local agreement" then surely your rep would have a copy of this.buchanpeter wrote:Same thing happens in my office.

Re: Stealing overtime..
Once overtime has been authorised (and this can be in the form of a verbal agreement) it cannot be legally withdrawn without the consent of both parties.
If the OT does not appear on your wageslip report it immediately to your CWU Rep by eMail if possible to give yourself an audit trail and copy in the DOM, DSM and local HR lead.
