Somebody explain collections?

I'm looking at getting into collections in the future when there's no OT going. Can somebody give a brief rundown of what's involved, so I can get up to speed quicker. I've done packets in areas I'm not familiar with navigating around by google maps so that shouldn't be an issue.

Here goes then, in the not to near future collections WILL change in that the Park & Loop guys will have to do some of the collections meaning some collection duties WILL be lost, yes another cut back by R.M but don't say we have not be warned especially those who finish their duty early

They give you a sheet with a running order for the collections.
It will include post boxes, Post Offices and businesses.
You have to scan each collection and you have to be there on time. If you scan too late or too early someone will want to know why.
They stick test letters in to make sure you are doing it right.
When you have finished the collection run you take the stuff somewhere. It might be back to your DO. It might be to a collection hub. It might be to a MC.

They will have to change the hours of duties to be able to do collections as well,some boxes have 4 or 5p.m on them.

The bright spark that will be out a job when someone finds out. If it was a manger then this is on the same level as storing items in a trailer and parking it or sending it on a circular drive, or the same as making sure that panel members in their area became known to make their figures look better. All qualifications for a future job seeker.

And there is also a button called adoc that's for when they send u out silly hours to cover the boxes and firms :

i get stroppy... i'm quite happy and friendly when buisness' have mail ready... but leave me waiting and they know about it... or i just drive off... not my problem. give them all plenty of time...
i did wonder if anyone have photocopied the codes. But it'll be easy for them to figure it out... and you would have to sit there scanning codes at exact right moments to make it legit... you might as well be driving round collecting then sitting cutting corners and not doing the job your paid to do.
