TNT increasing their deliveries is spooking the city. Now in Liverpool with Birmingham in May. We need to act fast while we can. I have been told of an office in Manchester which is now lapsing half their duties due to TNT.

We should have balloted against TNT final mile deliveries.

Now that amazon are delivering their own parcels in cities such as Bristol. Those shares will eventually fall.

Greed and fear drives the price of shares, with fear the price will fall.

I seriously thought RMG shares were crashproof, as they were valued so low to begin with. I believed even Royal Mail management couldn,t operate a company so badly that they would fall back to the price on floatation day(3.30) ......However having bought a couple of grand of shares (and sat on them) I,m beginning to feel my optimism in the management structure may be misplaced.......and that they really are as hopelessly out of touch with reality as I first thought.
Having had our revision a couple of weeks ago ,I now spend up to 2 hours everyday, sitting about waiting for collegues (with van sharing) or 'dead non-productive time' pushing an HCT back and forth from my delivery!
Its an incredible waste of wages ,and when you calculate there are hundreds probably thousands of posties ,up and down the country doing the same, it doesn,t take Einstein to work out ,the additional cost to the company.
I find it absolutely incredible, the total lack of business sense and strategy this company posseses.
Unfortunately, when they DO eventually realise they,ve ****** it right up, who will be the ones to face the consequences, erm let me think....

Those shares, "Amazon" HAVE fallen too. City speculators are putting all their wealth into 3D printers and E-Commerce. They think that posties will be a dinosaur in 2 years as 3D printers will be printing out all your blue-rays and Christmas presents. Who needs RM or Amazon? :arrrghhh :arrrghhh :arrrghhh

Crashproof. really. I will wager that within 5 years RM will be back having the monopoly again. The company will be called something along the lines of Royal Amazotnt Mail.
All letters will cost £2 to post. Minimum prices on packets of £4. Unless you 3D print your own Amazon drone then p&p will be free. All posties that are left will have robopistorus legs with all delivery vans having an ejector seat to catapult and scale even the highest buildings. Its the future :nana :nana :nana

Royal Mail sale: MPs recall Vince Cable for evidence

Business Secretary Vince Cable is being recalled by MPs to give more evidence over the privatisation of Royal Mail.

The announcement follows a report by the National Audit Office last week saying the government could have achieved better value for money for taxpayers through the sell-off.

Mr Cable will be questioned for a second time on 29 April by the House of Commons Business Committee.

Business minister Michael Fallon will appear alongside him.

Royal Mail shares are more than 70% higher than their 2013 sale price.

Labour has called the privatisation a "first-class disaster", but Liberal Democrat Mr Cable has insisted the government was "right to take a cautious approach" to price-setting to ensure that it went smoothly.

'Price'
He refused to apologise and said the sale had raised £2bn for the taxpayer, with a further £1.5bn from the 30% stake in Royal Mail which it had retained.

The privatisation of Royal Mail took place amid huge public interest and the shares rose by 38% from 330p to 455p on their first day of trading, meaning taxpayers had lost out on at least £750m in the sale.

In last week's report, the National Audit Office was critical of the government's approach.

Its head, Amyas Morse, said: "The [business] department was very keen to achieve its objective of selling Royal Mail, and was successful in getting the company listed on the FTSE 100.

"Its approach, however, was marked by deep caution, the price of which was borne by the taxpayer."

Demand for Royal Mail shares was 24 times the maximum number available to investors, the NAO said, but the banks overseeing the sale had advised there was not sufficient demand to justify a significantly higher figure.

The Business Select Committee is compiling its own report on the privatisation.

The controversy over the Royal Mail sell-off prompted angry exchanges between Prime Minister David Cameron and Labour leader Ed Miliband in Parliament last week.

Mr Miliband said Mr Cameron was "not so much the 'Wolf of Wall Street' as the 'dunce of Downing Street'".

The prime minister likened the Labour leader and shadow chancellor Ed Balls to "two Muppets"

And Cable should be labelled "A Muppet" too....!

If they are worth jack the shares will be the least of your worries as we won't have a job anyway.

Its a bad day for all shares for some reason so I wouldn't read too much into a 3% fall on a 1% market drop. in fact we don't even make the top 10 fallers

Yeah. It's just one more twitch from the ADD-plagued stock market.
