going part time

33yrs service might have the chance of going part-time , the change too my salary is a concern, could I take a monthly income from my pension too make up the difference? thanks.

You can take your pension any time after your 55th birthday but it would be reduced for early payment, usually by 5% per year. Reducing your hours will also affect your pension so think very carefully before you make any irreversible decisions.

If you are going part time my advice is to work fewer days and not hours. Try and do job share, and then you know your are part time. Try and avoid just reducing your hours, that’s were I went wrong. I think they can not refuse job share, could anyone confirm this.

Good advice Newtimes , hate it going in 5 or 6 short days a week, much better to work like just 3 long days a week.
