Can my manager change my rotating day as im meant to have the easter weekend off and just seen that he has given me next tuesday off which means he is trying to change it ?

you could try to point that out, but at the least they'll say you should have told them - although if you had told them, they'd have said they couldn't promise to give you the saturday off.

just tell him your booked up for something ,, and if you cancel will royal mail pay for lost deposits etc ...

No they can't.
They can ASK you to change it, they cannot tell you THEY ARE changing it.
The clue is in its name, it is YOUR DAY OFF.

If you're a duty holder they shouldn't really be doing this but if you're a reserve then you'll get whatever day off Royal Mail say I'm afraid.

I was quite surprised yesterday, as a guy who I'm prepping next to was asked by the DOM if he'd swap his upcoming saturday! The lad has been there like me for about 5 months and not had a saturday/monday off, so you can imagine his response - although he was a little timid in giving it. We are both 'floaters' but have had longer spells on the same round than other temps there. However, 5 weeks ago I was put onto the round he'd been doing and he was put on the one beside it, despite neither of us knowing the rounds and as a consequence he lost what would have been his first long weekend. That rota change was put up on a saturday morning as a last minute amendment to one put up on the day before, which hacked me off as it gave me no time to plan anything worthwhile for the next weekend ... I didn't think about the poor lad who lost his weekend all together.
