I've got to own up to taking a look and here is what I discovered

After an accident some people cordoned an area off and acted like detectives to find a problem

We are going to have to raise our game making sure parcels get to customers first time - Here's an idea, start us earlier then.
Perry Hodgson started as lead planner for Gillingham and is now the office manager
Some twat whose never stood in the pissing rain with a pda in 1 hand, a packet in the other and have to write a 739 card out wants us all to fill in the postcode on all 739s
Another twat wants an email address so he can report other posties who drop elastic bands in the street.
And staff in callers office are being trained, yes trained on how to read what customers who come to collect parcels are thinking. Id say without any training they are thinking "can I get my parcel please as quick as possible".

yeah some people take this company way too seriously. We are postmen, we push pieces of paper through holes in wood. Sometimes we deliver parcels. Now can I please get on with my job now without any more bulls**t?

The letter about LWTs made me laugh. RM's reply didn't even answer the main question, just gave some froth about how they'd been thoroughly tested by RM & CWU and were initially meant to be pulled but can now be pushed as well, since they've realised that it's obvious that they're designed to be used that way, presumably.

Nothing about whether using a LWT, even when the load doesn't require it, causes more H&S issues than it solves though. I think I know why.

The Courier is just a wind up....It fulfills the Company's requirement to communicate with it's minions. Simply Refuse it and RTS......after possibly a year or two they will get the message and ask you if you no longer wish to receive it. You will then have a little less stress in your lives and I'm sure you won't miss all the really interesting articles.

I RTS'd the last courier and within a week I had a letter asking me to confirm I didn't wish to receive it any longer. So now I don't have to suffer the crap any longer. Yipee.

However, I would recommend 'Delivery to Neighbour', do a fair bit of that because it's more efficient and safer than the post offices we leave our packets/parcels with otherwise.

Actually the were designed to be pulled. And as the article says the LWT was thoroughly tested including a full ergonomic assessment and involving the CWU.

well said that man! talk about stating the obvious,they do tend to over complicate things do they not.?and as for getting the vans up to how they were? well mine was obviously a stock car in a former life.it just doesn't happen,who are they kidding?its another world far removed from what goes on day in day out in most offices up and down the country,some are far too efficient for there own good,maybe the odd visit from so called top brass to offices to see what really goes on and how things can be done better?

Were they designed to be pulled? Explain to me how it makes sense to move a load without being able to see it.
What kind of imbecile would do that? In the US they have similar trolleys. They push them. As for the tests, nobody is saying they don't work when they're required but nobody wants to answer the question regarding repeated use of a trolley when it isn't required. Why is it compulsory to use one, even when the load is too light to justify it? It's obvious that it causes more H&S issues than it solves when used in those circumstances, so why are we still made to use them? Answer that question.
