Re: New incentive plan by April
We heard today that the new incentive plan will have something to do with complaints and compliances (quality of work)...
Will it be individual or group based???
One thing we have been told that complaints will now go on individual records and as well the walks.
Big issues: re complaints. Anyone from customer service want to shed any light on how the complaints are taking from customers? In my view, some of the complaints are rather vague and not specific enough to really identify the culprits; meaning Managers might end up pinning some complaints on wrong posties...
Redelivery, Redirection and Keep Safe complaints are some that spring to mind - unless a customer 'specifies' a date of incident* then any censure from a DOM should have no leg to stand on... (too many changes of personnel and flexibility on walks at my place)
I have a feeling that customer service often defaults the date of incident and the date the of complaint as the same. And that is most unlikely for the type of complaints above - I think

Re: New incentive plan by April
How about if you're in a role which doesn't have any complaints, like the locker or the book room or the CSS machines or a mail centre. Sounds like yet another load of bollocks. Cue dingo with the rationale for it all now we are privatised. How many times do we take calls about a packet or parcel where according to the customer there wasn't a card left or a knock given. Once again it seems to be I'll thought out.

Manager basically said customer is always right
Of course! And some of these managers especially the line managers used to be (failed) posties

Re: New incentive plan by April
The bit about managers pining stuff on the wrong postie is a very valid point, manager tried to pin the dent in the wing of one of the vans, on one of my friends in the office, till I reminded him it was the same dent I reported to him two months earlier.

Re: New incentive plan by April
If you were running our union would you accept an individual based scheme.
Nor would the business as we can then all get tarred with the same brush and get F all as a group.
Historically these thing haven't been worth a w*nk, and i'm sure this will attract a similar value. However something is an improvement on nothing, although its best not to get sucked into the "this will affect your bonuses" conversation.

An agreed work rate which is achievable over a full attendance and uniformly applied to all functions + the payment of OT to cover any additional hours would be far more beneficial than any bonus scheme concocted by RM bean counters.
