Signing out after duty
Is there an agreement or procedure for signing in and in particular signing out after returning to unit after delivery and finishing. Staff are being conducted for not signing out after returning to the unit after delivery and finishing. It is being put down to Health & Safety but of course its a monitoring tool for what time you finish. Just need to know the rules and that everyone is treated the same, including managers who leave early.

Signing in and out of your place of employment will be a health and safety/payroll issue. Not only that is is probably a contractual obligation. Go to any other job/employment employees have to clock in and out, why should Royal Mail be any different. That is unless the employee has some sort of guilty Conscience

Not true at all. I've worked in many jobs where there is no need to clock/sign in and out. In fact, I've never had to work for a company before where you have to!

Difference of opinion on this one, even basic health and safety legislation as to risk assessments will cover this. Most companies now use the RFID Chips in the ID Card as a record or logging onto a computer terminal

All I was pointing out is not all companies make employees sign/clock in and out. It's just a case of walk in, work, walk out.

well I sign in by putting the time I arrive to office then when I leave to start round put down time we leave and when we finish all I do is put OUT not the time it was put to me that it is to see who is left in the building in case of fire or some disaster not had any complaints as of yet famous last wordsmakingsounds wrote:Is there an agreement or procedure for signing in and in particular signing out after returning to unit after delivery and finishing.
