Working whilst on annual leave

What can be done if anything about poeple working their holiday week so in theory are getting paid double? Mate said he would work his day off last week (they were not on a/l) but was told they were not needed yet found out they have phoned up someone on a/l to come in instead.

You're paid double whether you work your day off or work on annual leave - not much difference.

The Way Forward Agreement is quite clear that you cannot attend for work during your annual leave.
So either the rep uses the IR framework to ensure the national agreement is adhered to, and if that isn't an option you e-mail Moya and ask one of her team to sort it.
Though you have to be sure they are working their annual leave and not simply changing their holiday dates.

Not true, on your day off your not paid, when on annual leave you get holiday pay

i find updating my call blocker works well while im on al
allegedy been asked to go in a couple of times

If there aren't enough staff to cover the duties it's hardly your problem.

Cant see the problem if people want to work whilst on hols. In this job sometimes earning a bit extra is needed.
After all if you DONT want to work while on hols they dont make you do they?

The problem is we have a national agreement that says you can't do it. Either we have national agreements or we don't.
If we want to play fast and loose with the ones we don't like, then nobody should complain when the managers ignore the ones they don't like.
It's all or nothing and not a pick and mix.

I'm on leave this week. I'm on a 24 hour contract (3 days a week) , I am not contracted to work Tuesdays or Fridays.

If I wanted to work in my office or another on the Tuesday or Friday, could I?
