Nothing, it's temporary for a fixed term. A 'fixed-term temporary contract' is what they're called on the contract itself.

actually, a fixed term contract might have a set period of time with set number of hours and would last for a fixed period of time ie 25 hours per week for 3 months, where as a temporary contract may be a casual zero hours contract and they can get rid of you when they like and no guarantee to number of hours

i started on a 3 month temporary contract doing 25 hours a week , got new contract through the door last week and it said 3 month fixed. only reason i asked. either way i suppose its a temporary contract. gonna be a long 4 year wait for the permanent.
