Just out of interest, how would you improve postal working/royal mail?

I would personally get rid of letters that need to be signed for. It feels silly having to leave a sorry we missed you card for something that would slip through the letterbox. Would save time. I appreciate the flip side to this though, when it comes to shared housing etc.

In answer to your idea. What I think you have to remember is it the sender who wants the item signed for, not the recipient.

Have you never sent something of value to somebody and wanted it signed for as proof of delivery?

How would you replace the signed for service?

May be Tracked as we do with packets which are no signature and fits in the door.

Yea that's the tricky part : / maybe as others have said, it would be easier to have p739 cards that you simply take a sticker of the item and pop it through, instead of writing one out and sticking the bar code on. The sticker would contain all the details we usually write out. Maybe just have to write date and time etc. Would also be easy to do in the rain.

I would make the job mon-fri ,and have Saturday staff in to work Saturdays,2 whole days off together then might have more of a family/normal life.

I would scrap 2nd class mail and set a price between the 1st and 2nd current charge.

With the extra revenue I would set a max delivery time of 3.5 hours which were not georouted but proper tested.

Have driving duties for packets,
Night sorting duties so the work is ready when we get in,
Start at Five AM so we can deliver stuff before people actually go to work,
Give us bags that aren't falling apart.....

More d2d,s to make more money for the company, I think starting later would be better, maybe 10 til 6 for full timers and 12 til whenever for part timers, I would make it a 7 day working week so there is no backlog of parcels and I think there should be more absorbing to help the company out during heavy work loads.

Clocking in and clocking out so everyone works the same hours. Not some finishing at 11.30 and some still out until 2. That way people wouldn't rush so much and do the job properly instead of cutting corners.
