Backpay and payrise question.

As everyone else did I got my backpay on friday. Ive been employed about 8 months now and my hourly rate was £9.08 which went up to £9.33 with the 3% rise. Am I right in thinking that we get another 3% this coming april taking my hourly rate to £9.60 ?

A 3% rise is about another 28p/hr - taking you to about £9.60/hr. (Plus the delivery supplement?)
Am OK at maths.

Should a pay rise cover "hidden" inflation, what is the true rate of inflation.

This "true" rate of inflation would vary from person to person.
It would depend on whether you had a mortgage or were living in private rented accommodation, whether you ran a car or not, what you ate etc.....
The inflation rate we are given is based on an average basket of goodies and is only really valid when compared to itself.
