3 years before you can sell them. If you do so then you will be liable to tax/NI on them. After 5 years you can sell free of all tax/NI liability.
If you retire through ill health or are made redundant, you can realize them immediately free of liability on the first 2k if held under 1 year, or totally free if longer than 1 year. Standard SIP rules basically.

I am right to think that you do not get ownership of them till 3 years are up, if you leave before 3 years you will not get them. There are certain conditions where you can keep them.

Yep, if you leave due to ill health, redundancy, retirement, or death.

Being sick to death of working for RM wont get you your shares before your time though.

Also.. I don't like the idea of going to Sterling to be paid... I'd rather be paid at my local bank.. in Surrey! :whistle
