So I asked Adan Crozier..........


I currently work 5 nights a week 23.30-07.30 working a walk sequencing
machine.

Am I to understand that,under your flexible working scheme,if a machine
in the mail centre goes down for say 2 hours one night I will be required to
stay on until 09.30 and then sit at home the following night until 01.30
waiting to start work.

If this is the case would that be fair ?????

dont suggest anyone would want to do this.

Thanks for the note..... i think the short answer is that it wouldnt effect
you tha tmuch
as in mail centres mostly everyone works the scheduled hours and ,by and
large, pull together to do whatever tasks need done to clear the mail.
That is why i dont think we are asking for anything unreasonable.
To help we did send out a fact/fiction note to try to show people the
reality of this and i will ask the team to send it on to
you so that you can see for yourself.

I work full-time, my contracted 40 hours, yes I work all my hours and many days I go over and do not claim overtime. On television you gave the public the impression that full time Postal Workers earn £440, we earn nothing like that. My basic pay is £323 and I take home £250 per week. So either you have got your figures wrong or you owe me (and my colleagues) a lot of back pay.

Dear Mr Crozier

The ruination of a once-great organisation (one held in high regard internationally) by greedy beancounters and self-interested suits is all that the Royal Mail is known as nowadays. Are you pleased to see you played a major part in this?

I'm at a loss as to why the introduction of flexitime is needed. Perhaps if the business had been run properly when you gained the position of CEO, then the current dispute would never have arisen. The blame is squarely aimed at you. A good, top flight manager should manage a business, not destroy it.

How you can live with yourself in taking home an annual pay in excess of £1m is beyond me - considering the company has not met targets and claims to have no more money. Perhaps the reason it has no more money is because the high level management are trousering great wads of the stuff - which would account for lack of "modernistaion" over these past few years.

With this in mind, surely it's time you handed in your resignation. You have failed to deliver - it's that simple.

I am bit concerned at all the spin you and Mr Leighton are using about these strikes especially saying postman earn £440 pound a week which you know or should know this is untrue as the majority of postman/woman earn £323 per week, also listening to a radio interview by your self you talked about the meetings at the TUC office over the weekend and on Monday as if you were present at them which you were not, you also stated or tried to make out that your in our pension scheme again your not. Any chance of elaborating on what you actually do know.
