Hoildays.
Hello, Regarding my Holidays .. I started around 5 months ago, I pre Booked 3 days off which I got payed for, I've also had an extra 2 days off which I needed. which I let them know about of which the manager said I was able to have it as Annual leave. Yesterday the Main manger asked me to go into the office and said that there has been people here 30 years & aren't able to get holidays, Then telling me I would have to pay back the money that I got payed for the 5 days off, which will get taken out my pay packet ? Where do I stand ? Surely i have the right for a certain about of holidays and surely i won't have to pay the whole amount back in full ? Thanks.

Re: Hoildays.
Welcome guy
If a manager authorised your leave then it would have been entered into the balance of staff as leave and you would have been paid. end off. It sounds like the manager is getting grief from someone who wanted that time off and was prob refused. His now trying to back track and cover his own back, he cannot do this as it was authorised leave.
Refuse to pay it back.
If you are a CWU member then see your rep. If not see your rep anyway to make him aware and join on line. It will cost less than 5 days pay.
Best of luck .

Re: Hoildays.
the holiday year is april to april, you will have been in at least 6 months worth of that therefore entitled to at least 11 days annual leave may be a little more, to be taken by then, speak to rep and get him to help you lodge a grievance and also as when you can take the rest of you holiday entitlement before april

Re: Hoildays.
You are entitled to a certain amount of leave due to the length of service which should more than cover your days off. It makes no difference if other people can or can't get leave no matter how long they have been there, that has absolutely nothing to do with it. Your leave was authorised and you were entitled to it. For some reason your manager seems to be acting an @rse? Has something happened for him/her to get annoyed with you?
Your union rep should be able to sort this out. Might be an idea speaking to whoever authorised it and get them to discuss it with the manager who seems to have it in for you? Might also be an idea to speak to the tw@t manager and ask them just how much leave they think you are entitled to, when do they expect you to take it and why should you pay them back when they would only have to give you leave some other time anyway?

Union what Union? Do we have a union?
