We were told to only take out what you can deliver. No excess but there is overtime for absence.
I suppose if customers get a a couple of letters they think everything is back to normal and it's more efficient not to bring mail back. Good managment on their part but there is still mountains of it left.

on the iow the strike is not that strong. the managers here have sorted the mail b4 it went to pompey so iw did not loose to much mail. although certain rounds did not go out(those on the picket line) and in other do's where the strike was 90 to 100% customers woke up to a delivery of a handful of letters. the guys on the missort run say some offices will take a week to clear. just in time to start again then!
it is rumoured that sandown suffered criminal damage by persons unkown the locks were glued. seems it must be time for a transfer to sunny sandown.
overtime here is a joke. if you strike no ot if you are a scab book as much as you like.

I'm well pi**ed off with the bunch at my office as only about 7 took part in the strike.
As a 30hr contract who is not in the pension fund, the issues don't apply to me that much, but as a union member I supported my fellow men/women even though I know I can't afford to lose pay.
I probably won't bother in the future strikes

We not allowd to bring it back once we have took it out!!with the law, workers have to hav 20 mins for every 4 hours they work, so that is why he told us that 20 mins b4 out and 20 mins at the end, so cud finish 20 mins b4 end duty. They are only keeping themselfs right, they dont care if we didnt take a break!!!Beforenineoclockgoodone wrote:No I suppose he means you could finish 20 mis early, thus taking 20mins worth of mail back with you?
