Conduct for not filling out 739s correctly?
On a few occasions I've forgotten or didn't include the callers name on the card, tracking no./address/date/type was all there. I've had cards from over a month ago work their way back to me with felt tip on from the callers office complaining, resulting in the office trainer showing me how to fill out a card correctly ....
Is it really fair to face possible conduct over this when hundreds of 739s get written when only a tiny fraction might not be fully complete?

They don't have to stand out in heavy rain and wind trying to write cards out bit different from being in a nice warm office sitting at the desk. B

Sorry to be a bearer of bad news. Just putting John or Dave or Laura or Nicola looks rather sloppy; and when the office folks ask for an ID, they will definitely be looking for a surname not any old first name.
Also, it makes it easier especially if another member of the household with the same surname comes to collect.
Skip the first name and just put MR, MRS, MS Surname but why not even add the initial - a few seconds?

No the name was omitted entirely, obvs I wouldn't write only the first name.chrisj wrote:Sorry to be a bearer of bad news. Just putting John or Dave or Laura or Nicola looks rather sloppy; and when the office folks ask for an ID, they will definitely be looking for a surname not any old first name.

Thing is doing packets in the dark it can get overlooked, I feel it's slightly unrealistic to have every card perfect, yes every effort should be made but some will slip through.

Ok. Just take your medicine. The office folks must have been well annoyed... Even the customer might have complained... about the sloppiness

Yeah but now I'm dreading if another 739 comes back, they'll have ammunition to say we retrained you, here's another mistake, conduct.chrisj wrote:Ok. Just take your medicine. The office folks must have been well annoyed... Even the customer might have complained... about the sloppiness

There you go Norm. You don't need retraining, you already know the procedurenorm wrote: Yeah but now I'm dreading if another 739 comes back, they'll have ammunition to say we retrained you, here's another mistake, conduct.

80 - 90% of the problems for callers office staff tend to revolve around incorrectly completed P739's.
No name, no address, wrong name, wrong address, no tracking number are just the most common.
Spending 10 minutes looking for a parcel only to have the customer then say that the address is different is not what you want at the busiest time of day.
Usually the majority of the problem cards are from a select few individuals who can't be bothered to do the job properly.

You need to spend some time in the callers office.
