No confidence in our Rep

We have a rep that is not doing in our office what we the members want. Most of us have no confidence in him as he has sorted himself out and seems to be in the managers pocket. How do we go about getting him out and getting someone else who we trust in place ?

why not try talking to him and airing your concerns? better than going straight above his head & not giving him the chance to please everybody lol. A wise man once told me before he retired there were 100 reps in our office but only i was the one with the balls to do the job officially!

A reps job is an impossible task as pleasing one person usually upsets 20 others! My answer to the mouthpieces who would never take the job on as it would put their OT in jeopardy is quite simple: when the year ends you will have the chance to take my role on and run against me, 5 years ive gone unopposed, that tells you everything you need to know!

My advise to you is take the rep job on & give it a bash then you might see how difficult it is!

If you think that also the area rep is in the area managers pocket then you would have to get all members to put their signature to a document stating that you have "no faith" in the current CWU rep who at present must have been voted in unless it went through unopposed and request a further vote for the position of union rep.

I left the union because in our revision, the only person who the rep was interested was themself..........got theyre own contract doubled to fulltime, got duty ringfenced for themself........but then, rep is always in managers office!
Area rep.......waste of space, don't even answer queries.
Decided union dues are best kept in your own pocket!

That's the trouble........it's all a big joke to some of you.
If you pay for a service, should you not expect to receive that service?? I backed the union in strikes but when I needed help it was a case of

To be honest the original post was a bit of a joke since his next post on another thread was this....

What is the point in finishing your delivery, then sitting around in the office until home time. It's not school ! That's what the job is all about. Do your round and go home

So when he says We have a rep that is not doing in our office what we the members want it could just mean that somebody has had the cheek to ask old seniority19 to work his hours.
