We are due a Delivery Methods Revision in March. Should this take the same process as within a bundled revision in a large DO.
At what point should the members become involved in this revision and also the subs rep. Also what is the main criteria to look at. We have been given a current map with number of delivery points and delivery time and a proposed map showing loops and number of delivery points and delivery time. How is this delivery time arrived at and what challenges can we put forward as none of them can be done in the time given except for a Tuesday. Any help will be grateful.

Lincox - I work in an SPDO and the revision that is taking place is an exact model of a revision taking place at a DO.
Rep and members should be involved from the beginning...
As regards the routes being produced, Georoute rules according to the business and I'm not surprised they are coming up short...

No input from Subs Rep as yet. Just been given these maps and asked to look at them and make comments. However how do we no if the georouting is correct if we do not have this information?

You can work local out roughly how long a new route will take by using the local knowledge in the office... you'll need to know if the time given includes all manual adjustments for packets and such... personally I think the time they should give you is from the time you leave the office until the time you return as that's how we all measure our delivery span...
Our revision has been on and off for over two years... we agreed times for rurals but the town rounds were well short... we stuck together and challenged the times... the planner didn't come back... no explanation nothing... we are now at the same stage again, about to see times for routes... got a good idea where it's going...
I'm surprised after all this time the way Georoute is used has not been challenged by the CWU... there is something fundamentally wrong from my experience... possibly related to the walking speed that's used...
