Sick question
If you go sick half-way thru a shift does it go down as a part absence on your sick record ? Im thinking of the current attendance procedures which put you on a stage 1 for 4 absenses or 14 days sickness in any 12 month period and just added up my days off.

It's good to get these types of threads, the ridiculous my manager said bollox, so we can reassure ourselves that while the world is falling apart, Royal Mail managers are still being the low-life C***S they have always been.

The daily grind of having to argue your case with an intellectual pigmy of a line manager is physically and emotionally draining.

Not changed yet but if we are close to agreements, I am sure Billy & Dave will have given way to what RM want. Part of good deal they will recommend to members. Same as Way Forward (Backward) Agreement. Watch out for all the other factors weare not told about ie, Union Representation, Absence Procedures (inluding Sick Pay), and the MTSF agreement which has wide impacts on working agreements.

Re: Sick question
Part absence is what it says part day and can only be recorded as such, however if you consistently take part days off eventually they will tot hours up to make days.Daniel Dunglas Home wrote:If you go sick half-way thru a shift does it go down as a part absence on your sick record ? part absence
my understanding is that part absence's won't trigger a stage warning but they will be included/taken into consideration if a stage waring comes out. but hey, these f***ers are making the rules up as they go along. theres an 'issue all stage 1 and 2 warnings whatever the reason' at our place. AOD's, DDA, opertions. they dont care. managers told issue issue issue... scared and spineless

You are right in saying they will look for a pattern, however before they take part absences into account you have to be advised by your manager that this will happen.Zorro wrote:Part sick does not count towards any stage, but! ...what they will look for is a pattern.
So, if you take every other friday as part sick, they will be used against you.

Shady Crew RM ?
they'll try half days , RM sacked a postie in Reading on a RTU , it went to appeal and it was pushed through by the next manager. It took the Union 2 mths to put a watertight case against RM, that not even RM's Solictors who would try and get David Blunkett a driving licence could contest .frankie wrote:A sh**ty little relief dum tried to get me on that once, until one of the guys in the rle put him straight. I had worked over 3 1/2 hrs on a sat morning and he could'nt book me as sick, so it did'nt go on my record!!!![]()
