Correct collection procedure?

Can someone tell me/point me in the right direction for the correct procedure when on collections, ie where should keys and mail bag be carried ?

In relation to mail bag as soon as items are placed in it the mail bag should be placed in the rear of your van and van rear doors locked. Keys may be carried in cab in full view.

Mail can be left in a secured vehicle in the cab for up to 10 mins on delivery. So long as the mail is in a collection bag and the mail not left on view, I would have thought the same would apply. Would it not?

Not forgetting to only scan the box and not bother emptying it (changing day tab is optional as well) leave that for the mug on the second collection later/person doing it tomorrow, this can apply to SPOs as well if your a real arse..

No mail is to be in the cab while on collection, we had (yet another) reminder about this in WTL the other week. Never seen anyone actually adhere to it though...

the only thing to travel up front with you should be your PDA (in the cradle) and your route card.

Correct. (I did ask if that's the case, why not put the cradle in the load space?)

NOTHING is to be left in view, in the cab, when you are away from the vehicle.
At no point should any collection mail be in the cab anyway, EVER.
Work from the load space. It's not hard.

It should be noted that IB do check on collection staff, and if you're caught with mail in the front, or having left a PDA/keys on display when away from the van, the Conduct Code will be used.
