hi ive been a postwomen for 25 years, we had our revision a couple of months ago and i went down to 3 days a week. i have had problems with my feet.
my left one swells up after a days work, i am getting it scanned at the hospital soon. my right foot has got bone ware and tear. i was wondering if both
feet show damage would i be able to get paid off. i am able at the moment to do the walks but am in pain and have to take strong pain killers, i dont want to wait until i cant walk. and whilst my doctor might sign me off. i would like to stay working and get paid off.

You won't get EVR based on ill health.
You might get IHR but that would be far less money for someone with 25 years service.

thanks sorry thats want i meant i do 24 hours now how much do you think i would get and would i need to go sick first i have got got something else i want to do but just need a bit of money

You would get 34 weeks pay plus 12 weeks pay in lieu of notice.

It sometimes helps but it really depends on how bad the prognosis is from your doctor and what Atos say.
In my experience if it's obvious you can't continue in your role Royal Mail don't tend to put up too much of a fight if you suggest you might accept the IHR route.

Did you get a buy down or just drop your hours? I volunteered for EVR 8 years ago and was offered and took buy down, nobody got EVR then nor since but there's been quite a number of IHRs, which seems to be the preferred option.

i took an exam in gardening and took over some business from my dad when he retired. my husband works in my office and with things as they are now i throught it a good idea to have a b plan there where no buy downs , and one person only does 2 days a week so i the other 3 with a rest day cover doing the other. i dont want to go sick because i want to still do my gardening jobs thats if it ever stops raining

I understand what you're saying but if there's no buy down there's not likely to be EVR and if you don't go sick or at least get a note from your DR/Atos that walking is out of the question I don't see IHR on the cards either. It's a bit of a rock and a hard place. If it was me I'd have a word with the DOM and ask if there's a chance of EVR, though I would have tried that before I went down in hours.

EVR amounts depend on your age. If you started at 18, have 25 years service and work 24 hours per week (so about £242 pw for basic+delivery supplement) then that's about £19K

IHR would be about £11K (46 times £242)
