Bad knee joints

My knee has been getting really painful recently, whenever I bend my legs down to a low letter box it must trigger it, and then I am in agony for the rest of the walk. Who though low letter boxes where a good idea!!!

I have stopped taking them, some really mess your stomach up, Ok I was taking too many. My duty changed to a far easier one compared to the one I was doing. Been doing the old one again and pain is back. Can I get referred to ATOS, would take IHR if possible. Prefer to be poor and good health, than becoming a cripple, any advice would be welcomed. Sorry if I have high-jacked your thread. Just shows how having an "easier" duty gives you a good life style.

Ask for an appointment with a doctor.
They can have a look at the knee and give you qualified advice, something no-one on here can do.
They can also refer you to other specialists and you might need x-rays or an MRI scan.

Look at the shoes you wear and possibly consult a podiatrist on the way you walk as that can be the underlying cause of knee pain.

You have my sympathy and you need to get it checked out asap .. I'm in recovery from a cartilage op 10 days ago having struggled with the pain for over 4 months .. the surgeon was very critical of the fact that I'd not sought help sooner but you know what us blokes are like .. we all think it will ease off after a while and go away by itself .. well, sometimes it doesn't .. there were times out on delivery when I had to stop and just stand there for 5 mins or so flexing the knee before I could take another step .. hopefully, the op has done the trick and it will be pain free when I return to work in a few weeks time .. office have been very understanding with an official return to work schedule to be discussed and put in place and several weeks of indoor duties likely before back out on full delivery .. I wish I'd sorted mine out sooner than I did .. as for ground level letterboxes, they should all be banned
