hi all ive got a deputy managers interview tomorrow and had email saying it will be a structured interview appox 45 mins what should i expect ??

what should i expect ??
Anything from mild pisstaking to serious abuse an a postie's internet forum I would imagine.

They'll ask you all sorts of operational questions and some about general managerial responsibilities, some stuff about your perceived strengths and weaknesses and maybe throw in something off the wall to take you out of your comfort zone but it's probably meaningless because in my experience these jobs already have a name on them long before the interview stage.

Structured interview should mean a set of pre arranged questions/scenarios
Used to be known as a focused interview in some circles
Best advice is not to pre plan answers as they'll be looking for you to deal with and react to fluid situations.
Try not to say you're great at everything etc
Be self critical and identify areas of development for yourself


Best of luck

Oh and if successfull try not to be a wrong un

You know......but its only half hour why claim dockett
I'll fill in Erica for you/its a near miss doesn't need to go in
Just take the stuff,fill in PDA later
Or my personal favourite..... I'll get back to you on that ----results in manager being whisked into a never before seen Bermuda triangle when you need an answer
