Keys left?

Apparently, keys were left in a collection box, and handed in to the cop shop.

As a 1st Offence, whats the usual punishment for this?

I wudda thort verbal warning...but the office "vibes" seem to make it feel its worse.

One of our guys has lost his keys at least 3 times (along with numerous PDAs and the old opticom scanners) even made the local paper one time, as all the boxes on his duty were sealed up for 2 weeks. Not sure what his 'punishment' has been for each occurrence.

Seems to not be a big deal in our place, try not to worry about it.

I suspect they'll offer training on "how not to lose keys" and that's about it.

Ta all..Ive seen the "PDA's missing in action", and someone locking the keys IN the box too!
Just seems that the new guys gotta state his place in the hierarchy.

Nice guy really, but I think the Knobs have passed down a predetermined sentence.

Wheres Amanda Knox solicitor when u need him?!

Would be at the discretion of the manager investigating the case as we have had similar situations as this at our office and punishments have varied from a rap on the nuckles to one year on record. In this case as it is a first offence and the keys were in a secure area the cop shop and pillar boxes on the route have not had to be sealed and caused disruption to the general public then I would hope that in this instance a rap on the knucles would have been sufficient.

Should have also stated in my original posting should the punishment be extreme in relation to the circumstances and the merits of the case for e.g. given 2 years on record as a serious offence then I would take it to appeal stage remembering that the appeals manager can only uphold, revoke or reduce the decision he CANNOT increase the punishment so well worthwhile taking the matter to appeal.
