Evrey 6th week off

Hi. Anyone know if this is true, if you work 6 days get payed for 5 over 5 weeks you get the 6 th week off. Or something like that.

Our office works a sixth week off rotation. We work a 48 hour week for 5 weeks (7am until 3pm) and you are entitled to week 6 off. Many work the rotation week on overtime making a mockery of the 5 day week. It was introduced to reduce the work load of posties. Although the original 6 day week was a shorter day you could work months without a week off. I always have my time off and coincide A/L to take at least three fortnights a year. Some staff bank the time and take the whole summer off to look after the children during school holidays. On the whole it works well.

Having just read the agreement, can someone just clarify the bank holiday arrangement, my last 1 in 6 week fell at the same time as new years day and my friends fell the week before, when we asked the dom he was under the impression that we had lost these days is this right, only looking at the agreement we should be able to reclaim them

Public holiday clashes are a day in lue/liu/lui ( cant spell! ) added to your A/L. Rest Week rotation also carries on through Christmas pressure - I`ve got Christmas week off this year . Which also adds 2 days in liu to my A/L .

THE DOWN SIDE is if your on a crap round in a crap office and your knackered at the end of every day - 5 weeks without a day off in those circumstances is not a good idea.

Yes but if you plan your holidays, you can keep the dreaded 5weekers to a minimum, I think i only do 3 full 5 weekers all next year and have close to 15 full weeks off (6 weeks AL and close to 9 wally weeks)
