Pin number on PDA

Another PDA question. I have to keep keying in my pin number a lot of times I come to use it. Even when I locked the screen, I had to do it again after unlocking. Any way of preventing this?

Not really there's a time limit on how long it's "active".

Should be "active" for the length of a delivery span, say 4 or 5 hours,and "invalid pin" is a pain when the correct pin is keyed in on the physical keyboard and the only way of rectifying it is to use the screen keyboard to key in the pin.I wonder if our competitors PDA is as wonderful as the Royal Mail "brick".

I was told it was a security measure but nobody could think of any instance were security would be threatened.

Very good question DG, I had one guy who spelled his name wrong twice and complained the PDA was faulty There is a total lack of comprehensive training for PDAs.

Not very ....but it grates a bit when you have to do it every time.

Does the time limit vary on re-entering your pin?

On some PDA's I only have to do it once or twice on a whole delivery but with others I seem to be doing it every 10 minutes, which does become irritating.

The barcode on your id card should be your username for the PDA, just tap the username twice to highlight it then scan the barcode on your id card

It would be handy if they carried a little booklet with the dos and don'ts.
