Re: Bulling and harassment interview
Possibly but solo is a glass half empty kind of guy
Take you're rep or a witness
Take notes
Suspend interview at any time if you feel its warranted I.I to clarify points or if you feel stressed
Loads more i could say but main thing is if your case is genuine try and get it fixed,
The bully/harraser might not be aware of their effect?

Re: Bulling and harassment interview
Make sure that you go in there fully prepared with all of your notes, dates on which the events happened, witnesses. Whatever the interviewer may say to annoy or upset you, do not sink to his level, stay calm and answer with facts. Do not go in alone, make sure you are accompanied.

make sure you emphasise the word Perception as when they try and do a postie they use that word a lot so when you tell your story make sure you say that your perception was ..... and use all the catchy words like intimidated, humiliated, suffocated, isolated etc again these are the words they like to hear when they look to do a postie

Re: Bulling and harassment interview
I would ask the investigating manager what training he has had in respect of carrying out an investigation...
The idea that RM take B & H seriously is a myth... there is NO compulsory training for managers... there is a course they can go on if they wish... otherwise there is a document they are supposed to read on the subject...
If you're not happy with the manager investigating due to lack of experience, I'd put a hold on proceedings...

If it's not to late avail yourself of these guides and clue yourself in. But don't be taking them into work with you

Re: Bullying and harassment interview
And don't get your hopes up.
Managers will automatically:
Close ranks
Alter statements (their own and yours)
Undermine everything you say if it suits them
Lie
I used to think each one of them should be judged on their own merits.
Now I think 99% of them give the rest a bad name.
Good luck

Re: Bulling and harassment interview
ET not an easy path, but depends on circumstances.
Bullying and Harassment may not be covered under the Equality Act depending on circumstances.
I'm no expert. There are certain 'protected characteristics' such as Age, Gender, Disability, etc. which are covered.
To go that route you'd need to explain your cause for action to someone qualified to advise, I think.
Good luck.

Re: Bulling and harassment interview
phronsias - I filed an ET1 against the business a couple of years ago... obviously can't discuss too much one here... all depends on what you are accusing your DOM of doing... you may have been treated badly but whether you've been discriminated against is another matter... you can get advice form the CWU legal team...
If you're thinking of going down that route do your homework before filing a claim... there's loads of stuff on the CAB website... you have 3 months from alleged incident to file your claim... and don't forget it costs a few quid to go to Tribunal too!
Good luck with your B & H case... having been a recipient in such a case while rep in a case that was total bollox (allegations not upheld) I have little faith in the procedure and the clowns who are instructed to carry it out...
